Butterfly Pie

Hope, revulsion, anger, victimization, and philosophical vertigo — this has been my disrupted mood from the fall of 2016 to summer of 2017, while I was working on the pieces in Butterfly Pie. The disruption follows the alien atmosphere of the election and its shocking results, waking up to a world whose values have no relationship to my own. Art provides at least the meager satisfaction of creating something out of nothing but dissonance.

This is the genesis of Butterfly Pie, the ambushed promise of the future.
